As the production manager you will be responsible for keeping the Production department running to its full capacity by using lean and other modern manufacturing techniques. To organise the day-to-day management of production and by achieving quality products on time, you will have to manage all production staff on-site including training, monitoring sickness, holidays and grievances as well as continually monitoring current processes & identify improvements in machinery, material handling & labour efficiencies. You will need to promote an environment that encourages continuous improvement, work with the engineering team to identify and implement engineering improvements and guide their work priorities, to assist the engineering team in maintaining the preventative maintenance system. A key part to your role is to make sure all staff are working to company guidelines and all health and safety requirements.

PERSON SPECIFICATION: To be considered for this role you will need to be from a blue chip company or from the FMCG industry with management experience, have a good understanding of health and safety and able to demonstrate great leadership skills. You must be reliable, flexible and able to work on your initiative and be able to make decisions under pressure. You must be a hands on manager who does not mind getting involved in all sides of the role when the need arises.

(SG99)Materials Handler £22k Northampton

Your role as the materials controller will be to place timely and accurate orders for all raw materials to ensure that stock is available so that the production plan can be followed at all times. This includes all bulk liquids, packaging, raw materials and cleaning supplies. You will need to communicate with Planning and the Supply chain manager any delays or non availability of materials, calculate daily usage, and schedule the timings of daily deliveries and monitor stock levels to avoid delays and shortages on deliveries. You will be involved in daily meetings to discuss any potential problems with raw materials and any orders due to site and getting orders you need processed signed off

PERSON SPECIFICATION: This role will suit someone from a stores background who is used to dealing with material orders, chasing stock and deliveries. You will need to have a good eye for detail as mistakes on orders can put production back my days. Must be use to being involved in morning meetings and able to communicate well with other departments.

As the operations manager some of your duties will be to take responsibility for the entire operation area covering production, manufacturing and engineering, coordinating all activities related to the actual manufacturing process, taking a job from inception to final completion, coordinating all labour, materials and subcontractors of the company. You must communicate and drive the company objectives, establish manufacturing goals and meet company strategies. Responsible for the health and safety, maintaining a programme of subordinate development and ensuring all KPI’S are achieved via a team of line managers. Manage all staff reporting to you so as to effectively recruit, train, evaluate and motivate, Oversee the production process and the execution of manufacturing schedules and quality control.
